Dead Osama Bin Laden Lives On ... In Buttons, Tees And More

For those who want to prolong the memories of a man who killed so many people, we have just the "Osama's Dead" T-shirt just for you, err for your dog, actually.

Appetite for celebrating OBL's death still not satiated? How about a ball cap that depicts the "Obama v. Osama" Final Four bracketology style with POTUS as the bracket winner?

Or, there is the go-primitive-on-your-a#!-style T-shirt, which depicts a stick figure version of a flag-carrying American standing over another a bearded figure.

And, for those who wish to dress fashionably -- and still broadcast their pleasure with the death of the world's No. 1 villain? There are now neckties that depict bin Laden in a gun sight and "Justice: May 1, 2011."

Other items include a case for your iPhone that shows a photo of bin Laden with "Mission Accomplished" stamped across his face; buttons that crack a "fish food" joke over bin Laden's burial at sea; and a straightforward coffee mug that also uses the gun sight imagery and the words; "Death by U.S. Navy Seals, May 1, 2011."

Happy shooting ... er, uh ... shopping!

Photos: Did A Frat Party Invade The White House?

Did a frat party invade 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., last night -- or, was "BinLadenDead" trending on Twitter?

We saw USA flag capes on bicycles, in trees and on the shoulders of dancing college men in front of The White House shortly after the news hit about Osama Bin Laden's death.

So, of course, Team Glittarazzi was on the scene.

White House Press Gaggle: President Obama Birth Certificate

Here are some interesting excerpts from this morning's White House Press Gaggle, regarding President Obama's birth certificate, featuring Press Secretary Jay Carney, Director of Communications Dan Pfeiffer and White House Counsel Bob Bauer at 8:48 A.M. EDT:

Q    Bob, can you explain why President Obama let this drag on for four years? Was it Donald Trump that prompted you to issue this?
MR. BAUER:  I’ll let Dan --
MR. PFEIFFER:  Sure.

Q    I know you expected that question, right?  (Laughter.)
MR. PFEIFFER:  He even said you would be the one who would ask it.  (Laughter.)

I don’t think this dragged on for four years because this was a resolved -- for those of you who remember the campaign, this issue was resolved in 2008.  And it has not been an issue, none of you have asked about it, called about it, reported on it until the last few weeks.

And as I said earlier, it probably would have been -- a lot of the pundits out there have talked about the fact that this whole birther debate has been really bad for the Republican Party and would probably be good for the President politically.  But despite that, the President, as I said, was struck by how this was crowding out the debate, particularly around the budget, on important issues, and was an example of the sort of sideshows that our politics focuses on instead of the real challenges that we have to confront as a country.

And so that’s why he made this decision now, because it became an issue that transcended sort of this -- it essentially was something that was talked about, as I said, from the nether regions of the Internet onto mainstream network newscasts.  In fact, Jay has been asked about this just yesterday in this room.

Q    So I guess the implication is that you did get political advantage by having not released this until today, over the course of the last four years?
MR. PFEIFFER:  There has been -- no one that I can recall actually asked us to -- we were asked to release the President’s birth certificate in 2008.  We did that.  And then no one -- it never -- up until a few weeks ago, there was never an issue about that that wasn’t the birth certificate from any credible individual or media outlet.  And it hasn’t been until -- I mean, Jay was asked about this yesterday --

Q    You’ve got two certified copies, according to this study.  You have these physical --
MR. PFEIFFER:  Yes.  I showed you one.  Just one.

Q    You showed us a photocopy of one.
MR. PFEIFFER:  No, I showed you --

Q    Does that have a stamp?
MR. PFEIFFER:  It has a seal on it.

Q    Not to give Donald Trump more publicity than he has, but is he the person who sort of -- sort of that bridge between what you're calling a fringe and the mainstream?  Do you think that he’s the reason why this tripped the switch to a level where you now have to deal with something you thought was dealt with?
MR. PFEIFFER:  It’s not for me to say why mainstream media organizations began to cover this debate.  They’ll have to answer that for themselves.

Q    How concerned were you about running against Donald Trump in a general election?
MR. PFEIFFER:  I'd refer any questions on the election to the campaign.

Show Me The Bunny: White House Easter Egg Roll Highlights 2011 [VIDEO]

Hip hop -- that bunny doesn't stop!

More than 30,000 children and their parents ventured out to the White House from across the country today to take part in the 2011 White House Easter Egg Roll and to meet the rabbit himself.

It was a hot spring day, but the heat didn't keep everyone from enjoying all of the event's cool activities. Even Bo, the Obama's First Dog (who had a case of blues last week), was all about that famous Easter rabbit.

Ready for us to show you the bunny? Watch our video recap now!

Chicks Dig It: Celebs Scramble To 2011 Easter Egg Roll

We spotted so many celebrities at the "2011 White House Easter Egg Roll" that it was kind of hard to keep track.

Luckily, we're pseudo reporters with pink notepads. ...

Boiled -> While we were in The White House Briefing Room, we mingled with Eddie Gehman Kohan of Obama Foodorama; @WestWingReport's Paul Brandus, who might've been hiding from us -- as well as several veteran reporters (we won't name any names) who were talkin' smack about NBC, and some newbies who were uber-confused.

Fried -> On the hot South Lawn (83 degrees to be exact), we spotted The Today Show's Al Roker; Washington, D.C.'s No. 1 afternoon DJ, Hot 99.5's DJ Toby Knapp (@tkradio); the Harlem Globetrotters (@globies); Colbie Caillat (she sang the National Anthem -- with a twist); John Lithgow (3rd Rock From The Sun); Kelly Ripa of Live with Regis and Kelly (who later Ripa'd a crepe outta Al Roker's mouth); and Admiral Stephen Rochon -- Director of the Executive Residence and White House Chief Usher -- who filled us in on his busy schedule and healthful lifestyle.

Sunny Side Up -> Willow Smith, Greyson ChanceLittle Beats and DJ Willy Wow got everyone into the groove while White House and celebrity guest chefs (Spike Mendelsohn and Carla Hall of Top Chef; father and daughter team, Jacques and Claudine Pépin; and Marcela Valladolid) demostrated how to make some healthful dishes.

Over Easy -> President Obama made an unannounced visit to see Willow Smith perform her hit song, "Whip My Hair." He stood at the corner of the stage and waved to a few people for a minute. The rest of the Smith family -- Jada Pinkett, Will and Jaden -- stood in the crowd, next to the First Lady.

Raw -> And last, but not least, we received an official introduction (and got to pet!) the First Dog, Bo, who was having a fun time, clearly out of last week's doldrums.. He and one press member's service dog even sparked, er, barked a connection.

Bo Not Excited For The White House Easter Egg Roll

Maybe he was hoping for a basket of indulgent goodies when he heard this year's "White House Easter Egg Roll" theme was going to be "Get Up and Go!"

Either way -- even with Willow Smith, Kelly Ripa and Colbie Caillat on their way into town to attend -- Bo, the Obamas' family dog, doesn't seem too pumped for the annual White House event.

While White House grounds staff were measuring and planning out the grass course for Monday's extravaganza today, the Portuguese water dog was found sitting lazily in the shade.

This year's theme, inspired by Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign, will feature activities that encourage children and their families to stay healthy and exercise. Complete with cooking stations and sport courts, we're thinking maybe Bo had other ideas in mind for celebrating Easter.

Will someone get him a Cadbury egg, already?

Spotted: Spike Lee Paparazzis President Obama ... With His iPad

As President Obama wrapped up at the National Action Network's 20th Annual Keepers of the Dream Awards Gala in NYC today, he shook some hands, kissed some babies (he's politickin' again, you know) -- and got a little Hollywood-style paparazzi action.

But it wasn't a National Enquirer paparazzo with a Canon in his face -- it was Spike Lee.

Yes, folks, Spike Lee -- who has produced and directed major motion pictures, like Malcolm X and Do the Right Thing -- was recording video of Barack Obama with one of the worst video devices on the planet: an iPad.

What Are Your Favorite (Fake) Obama 2012 Slogans?

As Washington whispers about the official Obama-Biden 2012 re-election bid, Twitter tweeps are tweeting away with #Obama2012Slogans.

Here are some of our favorites:

  • "Now with 99% less Hillary Clinton"
  • "Because I'm not finished with you yet."
  • "Jobs are for slobs"
  • "It's not George Bush when I do it"
  • "Read my lips: No new jobs"

And the ever-so-popular "if Hillary could run in 2012" slogan: "I told you so."

Catch the Twitter tattle ...
