LeAnn Rimes spanks Glittarazzi, then delivers fab performance at W Hotel

Country singer LeAnn Rimes was in Washington, D.C., this week to perform at a private GOP fundraiser, which was at the W Hotel last night.

She wasn't in town long -- but she was here long enough to give me (the editor of Glittarazzi) a little smackdown.

I'd received some reports that she was in town before she actually was, so LeAnn contacted me to let me know she was still on the plane. (Oops!)

LeAnn joked that they'd sent "decoys."

All of us at Glittarazzi really thought LeAnn was super-nice and very cute.

Down to Earth and thoughtful, LeAnn carried wedding magazines around while she was in town (she is engaged to Eddie Cibrian) and filled her tweeps in on her Godmother (while on her way out of D.C. today):

"Today is my wonderful Godmother's 83rd bday! I can't wait to get off the plane and call her!!! She's the strongest woman I know. Got my strength from watching her handle the toughest of situations. (got my expensive taste from her too :)-)She's taken my family in since my mom was 19. Incredible, incredible woman! She's held all of our hands at one time or another through the lowest points and made us get up and move on! I thank God every day for her in my life!"

Happy birthday to LeAnn's Godmother -- and congrats to LeAnn on a fab performance at the W.

Oh, and P.S. -- I issued a correction. :-)

About the event: The GOP shindig's goal was to raise funds and welcome freshmen to Washington. Individual tickets were $2,500 per person and VIP tables (seating eight people) were $50K each.
