Sarah Palin To Pull 'Wedding Crashers' Moment, Straw Poll-Style

Sarah Palin may not be a GOP presidential candidate yet, but that doesn't mean she can't have a little fun in Iowa.

The former Alaska governor decided that she wants to hit up the Straw Poll, even if she's not campaigning. So, she'll be rolling in on her "One Nation" tour bus this Saturday.

And, that's just fine by us. Give us a holler, Sarah! We'd love to see you.

President Obama Causes Congressional Website Crashes

President Obama urged Americans last night to contact their U.S. Congress members and tell them they need to reach a compromise on the debt ceiling negotiations.

So, what did Americans do? They hit the Internet -- and crashed Congressional sites, Hill leaders' sites, and even the House Democrats' Budget Committee website.

You can use this website to find out if your Congress member's website has actually crashed, or if you're just having Internet problems of your own.

FBI Agent Wrecks $750,000 Ferrari

There are certain perks that come with every job.

Some people get to put an extra meal on their expense account; others get free swag. But, if you're an FBI agent, sometimes you get to drive to a Ferrari F50 (there are only 50 of these vehicles in the U.S., which sell for $750K a pop).

Enter Agent Fred Kingston.

A Ferrari that was stolen from a dealership in 2003 was being held as evidence in an ongoing investigation. When Fred had to move it, he invited a U.S. Attorney's office buddy to tag along, and then promptly crashed the car into a row of bushes and a tree as he was leaving the parking lot.

The crash happened in May 2009, but it's news now because the car's owner (the insurance company that paid the dealer after it was stolen) is suing the feds, trying to get them to pay them for the cost of the car, which was allegedly totaled. The Justice Department says it's not liable.

No offense to our boys in Federal law enforcement, but that's kind of dick move, no?

Note: A judge will hear the case in federal court next month.

Osama Bin Laden News Crashes Newseum Website

Our friends at the Newseum had a little problem with their website Monday.

It crashed following the announcement of Osama bin Laden's death.

How?

The Newseum's website features the front pages of newspapers from around the world, so when people flocked to look at front page headlines about the evil man's death ... the whole thing went down.

The site was getting almost 3,000 visits per second when it crashed.

Transformers' Bumblebee crash: More than $42K in damages

Talk about a police sting ...

Remember while crews were filming Transformers: The Dark of the Moon -- and a D.C. police SUV accidentally crashed into BumbleBee, the movie's a yellow Chevrolet Camaro?

Well, we've learned via blogger Dave Jamieson (via a FOIA request) that the accident caused an estimated $29,507 in damages to Bumblebee, and $13,076 to the cop's vehicle, a 2005 Chevy Suburban.

The next time I'm driving -- and my police friends are making fun of me for being a nerd behind the wheel -- I'm so bringing this up. ...
