Mickey Mouse Vs. Navy SEALs: Trademark Battle Ends; Disney Drops Bid

Navy SEALs have taken on many considerable enemies as they've battled across the globe.

They go through hellish training and are probably the toughest group of soldiers on the planet. But, we’re not sure if they were at all prepared for their latest skirmish. No, we're not talking about Osama. This one was with Mickey Mouse.

It seems that the Walt Disney Company tried to trademark "SealTeam 6" in an effort to create exclusivity for future merchandise related to a proposed TV show about the elite unit for ABC (which Disney owns).

The public response was pretty much what you would expect: swift and apoplectic. Disney quickly withdrew its application and apologized before it all turned into a protracted legal battle with the Navy.

We think the whole thing went better for them than for the last person who went up against SEAL Team 6.  (Hint: He got shot in the face.)

Katie Couric: Plotting Next Move

Get ready to hear a lot about Katie Couric in the next few months.

Not only does she have a book coming out in April, but her contract with CBS also expires this summer -- giving her the opportunity to explore other options, as well as leverage for more in renegotiations with her current bosses.

Rumors are abound that talks between Katy and the network are breaking down and that she's even having secret talks with rival ABC (an odd choice since ABC World News is currently helmed by long time rival Diane Sawyer).

Sources close to the CBS Evening News anchor claim that she's interested in trying something new, ruling out a return to morning talk shows, and considering a stint in the realm of syndicated daytime talk show.

Whatever she decides, Katie still has up to five weeks before she has to make her decision. (That means the one thing you can count on is that the speculation won't end anytime soon.)

'Georgetown' to be filmed in NYC

ABC is ready to film Georgetown.

And now, the show -- described as "a series that follows four young people living and working in Washington, D.C." -- is looking for a Georgetown apartment or townhome to film for one day only, later this month.

Because, we're told, the Nation's Capital-set show will primarily be filmed in NYC. (Ack!)

Curses! Foiled again!
