The Washington Ballet's Rock & Roll Ball was the perfect blend of classic and contemporary. The event, which took place at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, was a celebration of one of Russia's most treasured art forms--ballet. With performances by students of THEARC and TWD Studio Company, the Rock & Roll Ball was not short on entertainment. Attendees later rocked out to the sounds of the Dexter Lake Club Band. Proceeds fund ballet programs that reach 800 DC public school children through DanceDC and provide tuition assistance for students from Anacostia who attend the company's programs and classes at THEARC, where more than 300 talented kids are studying ballet.
