DJ Pauly D of MTV's Jersey Shore is taking the plunge.

No, not that kind, silly. ...

The reality TV star will be at the D-M-V's annual "PlungeFest: MSP Polar Bear Plunge" this Saturday at Rams Head Ice Lodge, where he spins from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Event proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Maryland.

Hmm. We wonder if he'll arrive on the scene in a hot tub limo? :-p

She began her career in the military as an Army photojournalist.

Later, Raquel Riley Thomas -- Mrs. Maryland America 2010 -- earned the title of Distinguished Military Graduate and went on to become an Ordnance officer.

Later, in a twist of fate, she also became a professional model with one of the best known agencies in the world, Elite Models.

But this week, this busy mom, military officer and beauty queen was all ours. ...

 
What is your favorite meal -- breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Dinner. Because I get to hang out with my husband and my daughters. And we have the new DJ Hero, so my husband plays DJ while my daughters and I dance off our dinner!

What did you eat for breakfast today?
This morning I ate a blueberry yogurt topped with granola.

Do you have a favorite politician?
I like the decisiveness of President George W. Bush, Jr. He came out like a warrior during 9-11. I was on active duty in the U.S. Army during that time. I also like Bill Clinton's oral communication. He has a unique way of connecting with his audience.

What social cause is close to your heart?
Veterans Employment. As you know, we have thousands of military who are returning from overseas. We have to try hard to make sure they are able to take care of themselves and their families when they return. If they can fight for our freedoms, they can fight for our businesses as well.

Who is your favorite clothing designer?
Chanel, because of its classic look. You do see more of the conservative fashion feel coming back in the spring and fall collections this year. On the flip side, I love BCBG and Calvin Klein because of their sleek and futuristic looks. And, in regards to accessories, Cole Haan makes some of the best purses. 
 
Favorite music?
Kaskade, Deadmau5 and Tiesto. When I was a teenager, played the drums in a band, so I love beats!

What are your favorite D.C. hotspots?
We like L2 in Georgetown. We like also like Fur nightclub. I remember not long ago DJ Kaskade was there. We had a fantastic time!
 
What is your favorite "tourist-y" thing to do in D.C.?
Going to the National Portrait Gallery
 
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A drummer in a band.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
Eve's Bayou. It has this mystery about it that draws you in.

Kenny Loggins: When I do (come to D.C.), I usually like to hang out in Georgetown.

Glittarazzi: What social cause is close to your heart right now? 
Kenny Loggins: I just started working with a guitar company -- named Bedell -- and they're ... hooking up with an organization called Guitars in Schools, and so, we're going to give away about 1,000 guitars and visit different schools and talk about, obviously, music in schools and then give guitars to their music program. ...

Glittarazzi: What's in your iPod right now?
Kenny Loggins: Depends on the mood I'm in, like for you. The exercise list will be different from something for late at night. (He recommends Butterfly Boucher, The Weepies, Tina Malia and The Wailin' Jennys.)

Meghan will be on on MSNBC's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell tonight at 8 p.m. EST to talk about the State of the Union.

To call the very large State of the Union (SOTU) watching party at the Hawk 'n' Dove last night an experience would be putting it lightly -- that is if you could hear what I was saying to you.

The event, held by conservative organization Young Conservatives Coalition (YCC) in the upstairs segment of the historic Capitol Hill bar, had 80 to 100 of Washington's young right-of-center movers and shakers.

Coming in to the affair, one maybe expected a little bit of heckling to the various TV's about the room as President Obama took the podium and began his second SOTU address. I, myself, expected a full onslaught
of Mystery Science Theater 3000-like jibes or at least the two old Muppets, Statler & Waldorf, from the balcony.

The problem, however, lay in the fact that none of these so-called future youths even cared to listen to the President's speech.

From the moment he began talking -- to the moment the GOP response was played -- the entire room kept on rambling. With repeated attempts from the organizers of the event to get the room to silence, it was obvious the folks who attended the YCC function cared not for what was said, they were just there for the two-dollar PBR.

This all got really interesting when the GOP response started, as the room came to an eerie silence and everyone became fixated on Congressman Paul Ryan's (R-WI) ears. Not much of what he said passed contextually to those who listened, however, as no one in the room had actually heard the SOTU address.

Which begs the question: if the 289 Republicans of Congress can sit and respectfully listen to a speech they may or may not agree with, why can't a hundred-or-so conservative 20-somethings?

Perhaps it was all the pretty interns; perhaps it was the delicious PBR (which was yummy).

All I know is that, as I left the upstairs mid-speech, the rest of the Hawk 'n' Dove bar listened in to what the conservatives -- at the upstairs watch party -- had tuned out.

Look out, Washington.

Having this wild child on the government scene -- who has also been featured in Entrepreneur magazine -- might give a whole new meaning to "political party."

- Special policy advisor: Mary Ann "Mac" Carter, Scott’s long-time policy advisor, $150,000.
- Chief of staff: Mike Prendergast, $150,000.
- General counsel: Erik Figlio, who served in the same role under Gov. Charlie Crist, $130,000.
- Office of Policy and Budget director: Jerry McDaniel, who also served in the same role under Crist, $150,000.
- Legislative affairs director: Jon Costello, who served as a policy advisor on Scott’s campaign, $110,000.
- Special counsel: Hayden Dempsey, $140,000.
- Deputy chief of staff: Jenn Peter Ungru, a Republican Party operative, $100,000.
- Deputy chief of staff: Carrie O’Rourke, who was Scott’s GOP primary opponent Bill McCollum‘s campaign finance director, $100,000.
- Executive deputy chief of staff: Fritz Brogan, who served on Scott’s transition team, $80,000.
- Director of executive staff: Diane Moulton, keeping the same job she had for Crist, $95,000.

We were happy to see all the USA's beautiful colors represented during President Obama's State of the Union address.

However, as our friend, Gabe, so eloquently put it: "I think the orange one is about to cry."

Tears of joy? Probably not.

"I was really impressed with our meeting," Mathew said.

"I walked in [to our meeting] with absolutely no expectations. ... At the end of the day, if she's going to do this, if we're going to do this radio job together, it's got to be about the everyday stuff that we connect on."

Mathew said the two "discussed their families, Palin's son, hockey and what it is like to live in Arizona."

"She loves Maricopa. She loves her house," he said. "She loves that the weather is sunny every single day, which is a huge contrast to where she's from."

She also has a new boyfriend. :)
