Did The Obama Administration's White House Beer Recipes Just Boost The Economy?

Last week, the Obama White House finally gave in to public pressure and released some much-needed information to the people of the United States of America.

That's right, we're talking about the White House beer recipes.

For those of you who sill aren't aware of this story, the White House kitchen brews its own beer. Using home brewing techniques and honey from the White House beehive, the chefs create a honey ale and a honey porter, which the President likes to share with guests. He also likes to take bottles on the road to give to supporters. And, after some serious demands online, the White House kitchen shared the recipes with the world.

So, what's been the reaction so far? Pretty good.

Colorado's Governor John Hickenlooper, who was a professional brewer before he got into politics, is excited that the White House is making its own beer, but thinks that "little bit less honey would be nice."

Meanwhile, online home brew supply store Northern Brew is already selling full kits for both recipes with everything you'd need to brew them at home. But if you'd prefer to buy your White House beer, rather than make it – a Utah brewery has announced that it'll be rolling out special editions of the two beers for just before the election. And, there's a kickstarter project to create a "White House Brewery" that would just produce the two recipes.

Who knew that POTUS Obama's beer recipe could boost the economy like that?
