Being one of the world’s top athletes has its perks -- like getting a long-distance high five from the leader of the free world.
President Barack Obama's team tweeted a picture of him yesterday, calling to congratulate the U.S. women’s gymnastics team following its gold-medal finish.
He also sent a congratulatory tweet Michael Phelps’ way after the swimmer won his record 19th medal, making him the most decorated Olympian in history.
"Congrats to Michael Phelps for breaking the all-time Olympic medal record. You’ve made your country proud. -bo" ~ via Barack Obama (@BarackObama)
Michael responded with enthusiasm.
"Thank you Mr. President!! It's an honor representing the #USA !! The best country in the world!! ~ via Michael Phelps @MichaelPhelps
We can't decide which is best -- either a tweet from POTUS or a phone call? But, we all agree that they are both #winning!
