Washington Nationals Players Ross Detwiler and Rick Ankiel volunteered at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C., today.
Ross was joined by his fiance, Keri Franklin, and Rick was joined by his wife, Lori.
Rick and Ross are a part of an ongoing effort by the Capital Area Food Bank to help provide meals to children who would normally have access to free or reduced meals through the school system. According to food bank officials, half of school-age children in the District of Columbia are at risk of hunger during the summer months. Way to "pitch in" and help the needy.
