Top 10 'Most Convenient Cities In America' (Surprise! NYC Isn’t No. 1)

alt

We all know that 7-Eleven is a girl’s best friend.

And, and having one in your luxury apartment complex is a must for any yuppie these days.

Convenience is key for paying $3,000 for a studio apartment (any extras, like parking, require a sacrificial lamb), so we were thrilled to find that The Street created a list of the the top "10 Most Convenient Cities In America" -- based on WalkScore's average walk, transit and bike scores.

New York City (76.1) lost out to San Francisco (78.3) for the top spot, and the bike and car labyrinth that is Washington, D.C., (69.1) came in at No. 6. Other cities that made the cut include Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis and Portland. Here is the full list:

10.  Portland, Ore.
9. Miami
8. Seattle
7. Chicago
6. Washington, D.C.
5. Philadelphia
4. Boston
3. Minneapolis
2. New York
1. San Francisco

This is great and all, but we're still dying to know which cities have the best maid and pet-walking services? Because nothing says convenience like having to neither clean your own messes nor walk your own dog.
