If you’re reading this and are American, there's a one in two chance you're OK with legalizing marijuana.

Seriously.

According to a recently released Gallup poll, 50% of Americans now say the use of pot should be legal. It’s the highest percentage of Americans to ever side for legalizing the sticky icky since Gallup began asking in 1970. It’s also the first time the number of people who are pro legal weed was more than those against with 46% answering that Mary Jane should not be legal. (What the hell, 4% are unsure?!)

And (no) surprise, surprise: the difference between opinions fell along the generational divide. The younger respondents were more likely to hold the opinion that smoking herb shouldn’t be a crime, while the older ones thought it should.    

Personally, we think the whole issue of legalizing marijuana is a vast conspiracy by the pizza and potato chip companies. And we’re completely okay with that. #munchies
