It's no secret that Americans are pretty divided by politics.
Just look at the build-up to this year's presidential election and you'll see the red state vs. blue state mentality.
But despite our differing viewpoints, we should all still get along. And, that's the message of a new online video by a couple major stars.
Uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday, "Americans" stars Sean Penn and Kid Rock. The two polar opposites on the spectrum of political celebrities almost get into a bar fight over politics, but are then being shamed to end their squabbling by a Jamaican immigrant and news of the 2,000th U.S. death in Afghanistan.
The PSA ends with the two becoming friends and sharing something from each other's world. Sean tries beer -- instead of a cocktail -- and Kid gets a Prius and goes to a gay wedding. The duo then play at the beach together in swapped NASCAR and PETA t-shirts and go for a bike ride.
Corny? A bit. Funny? Definitely.
Does it work? Well, if those two can look past their political differences and be BFF's, can't we all?
