In order to encourage kids to get some exercise by playing outside, members of the Washington Capitals -- and a couple hundred volunteers -- joined KaBoom Elliot Segal of "Elliot in the Morning" fame and So Kids Can Founder Mike Green to build a playground.
The playground, which is located in Alexandria, Va., is based on the designs submitted by kids who participated in a "Design Day" event last month.
The coolest part of the project is that the volunteers challenged themselves to build the park in one day. Though, with that much manpower, we couldn't even begin to doubt them getting it done.
And, we're having a great time imagining their muscles being put to work on doing something great for the community's children.
Yum.
