Though it breaks our hearts (and the hearts of women everywhere) that Anderson Cooper will never be interested in us in a romantic way, we were so happy to see his decision to make public his sexual orientation.

It's a question that has been asked for years -- and one that Anderson guarded fiercely.

He didn't hide it due to any sort of embarrassment, he says, he just considered it a personal fact that did not have anything to do with his public persona. And, while we agree with that sentiment, we're also delighted that he agreed to let everyone in on that part of his life.

Anderson, loved by many, has won several awards for his investigative journalism, and we're hard-pressed to think of a better role model for younger folks struggling with the decision to "come out." Not to mention, he is the devastatingly handsome "Silver Fox" of CNN.
