Kevin Spacey -- famed actor, director, screenwriter, producer and singer -- recieved the prestigious Helen Hayes Tribute Award last night at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., this week.
Kevin credits his career in film to the skills that he learned during his many years in theatre.
"If I had not learned my craft in the theatre for more than 10 years before I ever did a film, I wouldn't have had a film career," he said.
Not only is Kevin Spacey a product of theatre -- he is also an educator. His educational organization, The Kevin Spacey Foundation, supports young actors, writers, directors and producers who have the commitment, drive and potential to succeed in theatre and film. Kevin believes that if you are fortunate enough to make it to the top of your profession, it is "your responsibility to send the elevator back down" and to help the next generation to achieve their dreams.
