Mikhail Prokhorov -- Brooklyn Nets owner and politician (he recently ran for president of Russian) -- and his sister, Irina, made an extra-large donation to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (can you say $1 million?) to bring a little bit of Russia to New York.
The siblings made their donation through the Mikhail Prokhorov Fund. This initiative, "TransCultural Express: American and Russian Arts," will bring Russian artists to New York to perform at BAM and send American artists to Siberia to perform and present their work.
We love learning about friends from other cultures -- especially when it involves a little vodka! So, of course, we took some time to meet up with Mikhail as he announced the donation this week. Check out our clip, below.
And, na zdrovia, folks!
