Newt Gingrich might not be considered the "coolest" politician -- but, we do know one hot pop-culture icon who thinks he's pretty awesome.

And, that gal is "Jersey Shore" Star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.

The unlikely duo bonded on the set of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" this week. Newt mentioned that he might want to stop by the "Jersey Shore" house, to which Snooki responded: "That'd be awesome. You could drink 'Ron-Ron' juice."

But, it wasn't just Newt trying to be cool.

When he congratulated Snooki on becoming a bestselling author, she thanked him by saying, "I'm trying to be like you."

So adorable! We'd love to see Newt get a little cameo action on Snooki's new show, "Snooki & JWOWW."
