Today, Rep. Keith Ellison showed his support for the "taxation without representation" hunger strike.
He met with @occupythevotedc and @dcvote earlier today, and then he made a floor statement for the cause.
Rep. Ellison read the @occupy_dc hunger strikers' Declaration on the House floor, placing the Declaration in Congressional record.
This is the eight day that a group of young Washingtonians has refused to eat food -- until Congress gives Washington, D.C., residents the same rights as other Americans, including the right to have a voting representative in Congress. (Please note that many people do not live longer than 14 days when taken off of food support.)
Before he made his statement, Rep. Ellison tweeted, calling the hunger-striking Washingtonians "brave young Occupy ppl."
