spelling bee 2012 05 31

Mitt Romney is getting a lot of backlash over his recent spelling mishaps (ie. "Sneak-Peak" and Operation "Amercia") -- but, it's not just Mitt who's in need of some serious spellcheck.

President Obama has had his fair share of typos, too.

The White House staffers have screwed up both Libya and Rhode Island in the past.

Granted, Libya is a foreign country so, we can maybe understand the difficulties. But, Rhode Island? It's in Amercia!

Sorry, America.

Given that little kids in the Scripps National Spelling Bee just breezed through words like "psammon" and "phrontistery," how difficult can it be to get your campaigners to learn how to spell easy words?

We're simply flummoxed.

DiD YoU kNoW? ... Winners of the Scripps National Spelling Bee receive $30K, a trophy and lifetime memberships to Britannica Online Premium. And, even if you don't win, you still get a bunch of prizes! Know a kid who's got what it takes? Learn all about the bee on their website, here.
