Power Couple Mitt and Ann Romney have finally decided to put their money where their mouths are -- and personally donate to the presidential campaign. (Shocking, we know.)
Yep, on Friday it was confirmed that Ann and Mitt personally contributed $75,000 each to Romney Victory Inc., which is the largest amount that a single person can donate to political campaign.
Does this mean Mitt’s campaign is already in trouble?
No way. In fact, the presumptive Republican POTUS candidate had a great month, coming close to matching President Obama in raising cash. Besides, candidates can legally give as much as they want to their own campaign – Mitt’s 2008 presidential run personally cost him millions.
The move is meant to be a symbolical gesture as a sort of thank you to supporters. Of course, being able to personally donate a sum larger than what most Americans earn in a year at the drop of a hat isn’t really going to help in Mitt’s effort to appeal to the struggling middle class.
But, hey, one thing at a time ... right?
