'It's Complicated' No More: Startup Wants To Create Your 'Ideal' Fake Facebook Girlfriend

Remember that classic bit in John Hughes movies, where the nerdy kid (usually Anthony Michael Hall) references his long-distance girlfriend "in Canada" -- and everyone smiles and nods because they know he is making it up?

Well, here's the supposed 21st century version. ...

It's called Cloud Girlfriend, and not much is known about it other than what the site claims.

You signup by giving your e-mail address, they contact you and then you describe your ideal girlfriend. Then, your fake lover's profile appears on "your favorite social network" and will then start to interact with you and give the appearance that you're in a relationship.

(Of course, this violates Facebook's terms of service and will probably get shutdown the minute it starts running, which is probably the whole point.)

The service is run by Launchrock -- a startup that helps startups to launch virally -- which has led our crack Glittarazzi investigation team to file this under "publicity stunt."

But, we have to admit ... dating Kim Kardashian's fake look-a-like does sound pretty cool.
